Many organizations work hard to make a difference to the world. I strongly believe that the organizations working against animal cruelty have it especially hard because they are protecting the species that cannot fight back, cannot speak back and cannot yell for help. They have to be on constant watch for any signs of cruelty because the animals cannot simply call them and tell them they need help. Also, many humans do not believe that animals deserve the same rights as humans. These are the people who possibly perform these cruel acts and/or are a big struggle for the organizations to handle. To answer my essential question, "what are associations doing to help stop cruelty to animals?", associations are using their legal power to enforce laws against animal cruelty. Every day, more and more states are adding laws to their towns that force police to stop any signs of cruelty and to imprison any felon that breaks these laws. They are also using the technology that is being created in the medical fields to help the injured animals survive. Associations have animal patrol officers answering any calls about harmed animals in different parts of cities and states. Different associations are working hard to achieve one goal- To finally put a stop to the cruelty of animals.

Animal Cruelty

Many different people have different views about the world. We all know how much of an influence a celebrity can have on a person. Many girls strive to be just like their favorite teen girl celebrity. Many celebrities can have a big impact of people with the way they use their fame and money to help out organizations. Take Ian Somerhalder for example, star of the Vampire Diaries. He uses his fame and money to help animals around the world. In fact, he has his own organization in which many people are a part of. It is called the Ian Somerhalder foundation. He is not the only celebrity trying to make a difference. Actress Hayden Panettiere has been in a organization called Sea Sheperd since 2007. It is an organization that helps sea wild life with the struggles they go through. Sea life have it hard as well. With the pollution and the way we as humans litter, their oceans become more and more dangerous to live in. They eat and swallow objects that choke them simply because we cannot take the time to dispose of them properly.
As celebrities, they create an enormous influence of young teens and sometimes also adults. I hope to see more and more celebrities striving to make a difference.

Another way to help innocent animals is to post information about what is going on in the world in relation to animals online so that people can be aware of the situation animals are facing. Many people have already begun to do that. There are millions of websites providing truthful information about the way animals are being executed. Websites include the humane society, the ASPCA, Peta and others. These websites are also organizations created to keep things going steadily with no problems whatsoever. They are there to make sure people follow the rules and the laws of animal cruelty and to make sure that animals are respected and get the rights they deserve.

Animal Cruelty
This is a video created by the organization PETA, (people for the ethical treatment of Animals)
Another organization is the AFOP (Action For our Planet). It is not a widely famous organization but it works hard to provide information about animals and they also prevent animal cruelty from occurring. From insects to whales, they give out information about how an animal lives and what type of help they might need.

A magazine article published in 2010, spoke about the tragic death of an innocent two year old Pitbull named Phoenix who was set on fire. It also spoke about the outrage that arose by the citizens and the organizations such as the ASPCA.
From this tragedy, many people stepped up and spoke their minds. Authors began to publish books that had to do with Animal Cruelty, people began to help out. This demonstrates how when the truth is spoken to the people, changes will began to occur.
The ASPCA and the Humane Society began to keep a closer watch on neighborhoods and developed new ways to get to places faster and easier. They also developed new and improved technologies to help animals get through the pains of their injuries. Obviously, as the world is progressing, we are becoming more and more agile with how we handle the injuries and an innocent animal.

In quarter two of the project, i am going to strive to produce more information about the associations and what they are doing in order to stop or to help the animals in need.
I am going to begin with the main organization is South Florida and the role that they play in the prevention of animal cruelty.
The Humane Society: They strive to protect more than just the domestic animals. They take care of all animals in the wild that need help. The organization began in 1954 when a group of people wanted to improve the living conditions of animals. They started the organization in Washington, D.C. so that their efforts can have a more national view. They spent a plethora of their time going against animal testing and other forms of animal cruelty. They ranged from helping small animals such as squirrels and raccoons to large animals such as whales.
The ASPCA: They are the oldest society created. For 125 years, they have strived to provide help. Its founder, Henry Bergh, said the purpose was "to provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the United States."
